Born in 1970 in Hai Duong, Kieu graduated from the Graphic Arts Faculty, Hanoi Industrial Fine Art University where he became a visiting lecturer from 1994 to 1996. In 1994 he established Haki Art Studio in Hanoi and over the years has built a group of four small companies - in design consultancy, publishing, advertising communication, and printing. He organized the first Hanoi Graphic Design Show 2000 and produced a 40-minute TV documentary, "Life with Graphic Design". He was also nominated by the Vietnam Fine Art Association as Standing Deputy Chief of Graphic Arts Event Organization Board. In November 2002, Kieu represented Vietnam at the Icograda Regional Meeting in Taiwan. He also organized the Vietnam Graphic Design Exchange, a project to establish the first specialized design library in Vietnam, and to publish a design magazine entitled "Vietnam Design Portfolio".
