Born in Tokyo in 1961. Graduated from Kuwasawa Design School. Founded Saru Brunei in 1990. Gento Matsumoto is an art director working in advertising, publication, films and digital media. Among his major digital works are a floppy disk "Pop Up Computer," the CD-ROM "Jungle Park (Digitalogue)" and video software: "Dobutsu Bancho--Animal Leader," produced by Nintendo Cube. Rikuyosha has published his book, Artist Designer and Director SCAN #1 Gento Matsumoto. Awards he has received include New York Disk of the Year Grand Prix, Multimedia Grand Prix '94 Minister of International Trade and Industry Prize, Japan Software Grand Prix, Yomiuri Shinbun Newspapers Award, International Media Awards '95 Game & Entertainment Grand Prix, ADC (Tokyo Art Directors Club) Award '95, I.D. Magazine Annual Design Review '96 Design Distinction Award, Animation Kobe '96 Best Interactive Award, CD-ROM Fun '96 Best of CD-ROM, Tiger Mountain '96 The Best of Game '96, AMD (Association of Media in Digital) Award '96 Best Visual Designer, Tokyo TDC Award '02, Kuwasawa Award '03.
