Born in Tokyo in 1958. After graduating from the Department of Graphic Design, Tama Art University in 1980, he entered Hakuhodo Inc. Founded Onuki Design in 1993 Onuki's major work and clients include campaigns for Nisshin Shokuhin's "Cup Noodle", Suntory's "Pepsi Cola" and "CC Lemon", Toshimaen Co., Ltd., Laforet Harajyuku, Seibu Department Stores, Ltd. and Shinchosha's Shincho Bunko Library. Among his clients for corporate identity are J League, Toto and Expo 2005 Aichi, Japan. Awards he has received include the Tokyo ADC (Art Directors Club) Members' Award in 1989, 1991, and from 1993 through 2002. He received the Tokyo ADC Members' Grand Prize in 1990 and 1992, the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival Grand Prix in 1992 and the NY ADC (New York Art Directors Club) Gold Prize in 1992.
