Shutaro Mukai and Toshiharu Itoh very much regretted that Richard Saul Wurman, due to his schedule, had already returned to America. The summary of these four inspiring days highlighted all aspects of the wide variety of the sessions. Watching, listening, thinking and discussing were really what was expressed in the conception: a VISUALOGUE. Flesh reports recalled the presentations. The wide range of speakers from Japan and from many parts of the world gave an impression of the importance of quality of information and its complexity.
The multicultural composition and multidisciplinary approach is a documentation that the cultural and individual context is important. Shutaro Mukai pointed out: We are flooded with information, so what should we change? He said that the answer is difficult to define, it can not be one word definition. All as life is a dynamic process. To reach quality-in other words, beauty and aesthetics-needs taking into consideration different aspects, different routing and different steps.
They include "Clarity", "Creativity", and "Joy / Humor", and the subthemes Identity, Sustainability, and Education are with many other aspects like the sparkling stars above mount Fuji a complex approach to reach the goal: Quality of Information. (HL)
