Illustration Competition for the Poster of Nagoya Festival & Exhibition of Award Works
We will invite the general public to submit original illustrations for campaign posters for the Annual Nagoya Festival, to be held along with the opening of the 2003 Icograda CONGRESS NAGOYA・JAPAN. Prize-winning work will be on exhibit.

Dates: Tuesday 7th October 2003-Wednesday 15th October 2003
Venue: Central Park 'Central Gallery'

Representing autumn in the city is the tremendous Nagoya Festival. To commemorate the festival (this year held concurrently with the opening of the Congress) there was a call for illustrations for the festival poster.
From 475 entries, jurors selected one to receive the Grand Prix, two for Excellence Prizes, 10 as prize-winning pieces and 42 as selected works. Here we introduce all of these, which will also be shown this October in an exhibition, "Award Works from the Illustration Competition for the Poster of Nagoya Festival". The Grand Prix winner graces the 49th Nagoya Festival poster and will also be applied in the city's tourism program.

  -A comment from the winner
I was really happy to find out that I had won. I never imagined I would receive such an important prize. I feel it was worthwhile to have worked so hard on it. If the poster inspires just one more person to come and see our festival, I will be very pleased. (Asuka Suzuki)
